There exist three boom arms, namely a main arm, a rotating arm, and a forearm. The primary arm is affixed to the column-mounted main boom arm pivot assembly. This facilitates the main boom arm to rotate up to 180° in a semi-circle. A double-articulated joint assembly links the main arm and the forearm. It is precisely this double-articulated joint that enables the forearm to rotate 360° from the primary arm, offering a comprehensive coverage zone of up to 16-78 feet (5-24 meters) in diameter semi-circle without any welding dead zones, which is not common in other designs.
All the welding equipment, such as the welding power supply, wire feeder, welder and wire feeder settings, inert gas, welding wire, weld boom controls, and the optional Hi Vacuum Welding Fume Extraction System, are installed on the boom column or arms.
